...You guys are awesome!! I was so impressed with the care I was given, the genuine love I felt from you, and the concern and kindness everyone shown towards me.
...The decision to have surgery was probably the best decision I have made in my life other than the decision to get married and have my wonderful kids. I feel great, I look great and I love life. It is so fun to go into a store and buy clothes off-the-rack, and not have to go to the fat girl store. It is so fun to be able to go swimming and not feel like everyone is looking at the fat girl. It is so fun to go hiking and not want to die before you make it to the top.
...I love that my family is proud of me and I'm not an embarrassment to them. I love the way I feel. I'm so much healthier. I have lost 100 lbs I went from a size 22 pant to a size 10. It has been over 25 years since I've been a size 10 and at my current weight of 175 lbs.

I would like to start by thanking each of you again for providing me with such a wonderful life changing experience. There are no words to accurately describe the way you all made me feel while there. I went last week for my three month post-op appointment with the bariatric MD I am seeing here. My labs were all in good shape, and I am down 59 lbs. now. I feel well and no longer get sick when eating meat. I do find myself getting frustrated at times when I don't feel like the pounds are coming off quick enough, but I must remind myself that I didn't gain the weight overnight and it will not come off overnight either. I only weigh about every two weeks in an effort to not get as frustrated. I have a lot of support from others at work and they constantly tell me that they can really tell I'm losing so that helps a lot.

I just wanted to say thank you for the excellent care I received while in Columbia. Dr. Silva and Dr. Valencia are two of the most compassionate, caring and wonderful doctors. I felt comfortable and relaxed while in their care. My private nurses Sandra and Jenny were so sweet and kind and treated me as if I were family. My English speaking guide Paulina was one of the most important people on my journey, she was so helpful and friendly and a truly amazing individual. Bogota is a beautiful city and one that soon I will visit again!

It is true the care I got in Bogotá was better than any care I could have received here in the States. I would go back in a heartbeat!!

It has been a little over a month and I have lost 30 pounds so far. I feel great!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for all your care, and kindness. When I told people that I was going to Colombia to have my surgery, they thought I was crazy, but after seeing my results and comparing me with others that they know who have had the surgery in the States, they say I look healthier than them. The care I received was next to nothing I have ever known. Being that I work in a hospital, I full well know, that the care and attention I received was something you just don't see any more.
I have been working without difficulty. My family is amazed. I recommend this to anyone who can not get their insurance to pay. Dr. Valencia was a top notch surgeon and Dr. Silva was very informative. All the staff and physicians were knowledgable and able to answer all my questions. The staff was also very attentive and my private nurses were always there ready to help me.

The care I received there was 100 to 1 compared to any health care I have ever received in my lifetime and I have lived all over the United States. Not only would I return to have other procedures done there but I would recommend others to see the quality of healthcare and professionalism for themselves. It's not any more dangerous going to Bogata then it would be going to Disney World. For my new found friends at Affordable Bariatrics, THANK YOU!

| I had the surgery March 11, and I would not change anything about my experience. The treatment was par excellence, the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and caring. The surroundings were immaculate and the technology is modern.
We stayed in a 5* hotel, a suite before surgery, and after the surgery we had two rooms so the nurse was able to have access to one. I had 24 hr nursing service and they were wonderful

As a registered nurse for over 29 years, I have very high standards when it comes to healthcare. I found Dr. Valencia to be very compassionate, knowledgeable, and current in his knowledge. I immediately felt confident allowing him to do my surgery.
For the next couple of days we went site seeing and shoped. Great shopping and Bogotá ia a beautiful city. I was always with my english-speaking guide a I felt safe all thetime.
Overall, this experience was OUTSTANDING. It was a great option since my insurance company denied me twice, even though I met all the criteria.
I will tell you as a nurse with 29 years of experience, that you will NEVER experience the same level of attention from the surgeons in the U.S. as that given from the surgeons and nurses in Bogotá.
I hope you check this website thouroughly and if it is right for you, GO FOR IT. You will be happy you did.

I went today to my primary care physician and my blood pressure is going down, he is taking me off the Lopressor from twice a day to once a day, and he is decreasing my Norvasc dosage as well. The last time I had been to this Doctor my weight was at 360 pounds. Today I weighed in at 329 pounds. That is a 31 pound loss (YEAH).

The medical care was unequaled by any I have ever received here in the States, and I have had several surgeries.
I had a cell phone pre-programmed with both Doctor's and my guide's phone number. When I called either one of the Doctors, I got the Doctor. I did not get a Receptionist saying she would have them call back to me.
My experience in Colombia was a vey good one. There were many beautiful things to see down there. I did not feel unsafe at any time. I would like to visit there again sometime, if I could afford it.
